<OL> <LI>To open, simply press on the optional locking bar, if used. <LI>While pushing the locking bar in, lift up on cover. <LI>Place pill into the "V" shaped holder. <LI>Close cover to split pill. <LI>Repeat opening process and remove pill halves. <LI>Close cover and store in closed position.</LI></OL> <P><STRONG>Cleaning Instructions:</STRONG> Before using, wash in warm, soapy water. <STRONG>Blade is very sharp - be careful not to come into direct contact with blade</STRONG>. Rinse with hot water and allow to air dry. After every use, brush residue off with a thick washcloth being careful not to come into direct contact with the blade. Rinse with hot water and allow to air dry.</P> <P><STRONG>Note:</STRONG> Enteric coated tablets are intended to be swallowed whole and should never be cut before taking.</P> <P><STRONG>To convert the safety tablet cutter to locking mode:</STRONG> Open the lid of the tablet cutter. Insert locking bar into the hole on the side of the cutter with the tab of the locking bar pointing back towards the hinge. Press until it snaps into place and close. Depress tab and lift lid to open. To remove again, simply open the cutter, grasp the tab and pull firmly.</P>
