Linden (Tilia x europaea) is a deciduous tree up to 30 m high with a spreading spherical crown. The trunks of the trees are powerful, reaching a diameter of 80 cm, covered with dark bark with deep cracks. The leaves are alternate, on long thin petioles, heart-shaped, dark green above, bluish-green below. The flowers are yellowish-white, collected in semi-umbrellas of 3-15 pieces. Linden blooms in June and July. Fruits are nuts 4-8 mm in diameter, spherical, felt-pubescent with a woody or leathery shell.
