Lutein and zeaxanthin can be found in fruits and dark green leafy vegetables and meso-zeaxanthin is present in some species of fish and seafood. The macular carotenoids in MacuShield are obtained from marigold petals (Tagetes Erecta). MacuShield Gold contains lutein, meso-zeaxanthin and zeaxanthin, as well as zinc which is scientifically proven to help support eye health by helping to maintain normal vision.
